Since her 1998, YTV Achievement Award nomination, there have been many singing competitions and live performances for Kristal Barrett, including opening for Donna Ferra, Aaron Lines, The Good Brothers, Aaron Pritchett, Ronnie Hawkins, Deric Ruttan, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and many more. In 2003 Kristal moved to Toronto to focus on her dream of writing, recording, and performing country music. The tough road led her to Music Mentor Productions and producer/songwriter Peter Linseman, where she recorded background vocals on Donna Ferra’s debut CD release “Waited Long Enough” and had the opportunity to go on a small tour across Ontario.
Two years later the B.C native returned to work at her local country radio station in Abbotsford, BC, Country 107.1, and by the end of the year, was nominated for two BC Country
Music Awards: Rising Star and Website of the Year! Kristal also won “Media Idol” for B.C and was flown to Toronto to compete live with the winners from across Canada on the Canadian Idol Finale while her first single “High on Life” debuted on Canadian Country Radio nationally. In October 2007 Kristal was nominated for three more BC Country Music Awards: Rising Star Award, Website of the Year and the Humanitarian Award she was also nominated for the YWCA Young Woman of Distinction Award for her work with inspiring youth and her drug awareness campaign. 2008 kicked off with the release of her second single “This Time Next Year” which was voted the #1 song in the Top 5 @ 5 for six consecutive weeks on Country 107.1! Many more shows followed including Merritt Mountain Music Festival and another BCCMA nomination in October 2008. The 3rd radio single titled “Tennessee” was released at the start of 2009 and was written by Kristal Barrett and Peter Linseman. 2009 was filled with many great shows including opening for Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, the Cloverdale Radio, The Abbotsford Agrifair, The Berry beat Festival, The Duke of Dublin and many more. 

Kristal is currently songwriting  and in the studio working on her second album that she plans to release in Fall 2011 she will also debut her very  first music video in the fall of 2011 and her first radio single from the much anticipated second album should hit radio airwaves before the end of the summer!!! I'm so excited to finally share my new music with the world, it's a new sound for me" Kristal’s biggest dream is to inspire people with her positive lyrics and her motto for life because, “I’m high on life and what’s to come!”
